At the end of 70’s and during 80’s it happened to meet tourists from all over the world sharing the apartments with our grandparents, staying long period in San Gimignano; our town was not so famous as now. The friendly, warm and convinced approach of our grandparents towards visitors had always impressed us. They gave them the chance to experience San Gimignano, its culture and history.

In 1999 I was a student at the university and together with my brother and my parents we decided to restore the building belonged to my grandparents and to start again rent rooms  for tourists, offering everyone the opportunity to experience San Gimignano in the heart of the historical centre.

The name “La Mezzana Rossa” was borne, from the typical Tuscan red stone of the roofs in Tuscany. Today La Mezzana Rossa is a large IV Century building located in Sant’Agostino square, one of the most quiet place in San Gimignano

La Mezzana Rossa  can offer multiple solution, rooms and apartments, within the same building. After the restoration works in 1999 another intervention occurred in 2008 in order to enhance the historical details like a fresco in the living room.
La Mezzana Rossa  can be an unique occasion to pass a pleasant experience discovering the town, the countryside, the history and the treasures of San Gimignano breathing such a unique atmosphere
